Hi, Iām Ivan!
I am a recent grad from the Video Game Design and Development program at the Toronto Film School (TFS). The curriculum has introduced me to programming languages such as C# and C++ and provided invaluable hands-on experience in Unity and Unreal Engine 5. My journey at TFS reached a pivotal moment when I was given the opportunity and privilege of leading a team of more than 20 students as the Creative Design Lead for the June 2024 Capstone. This role not only allowed me to harness my leadership skills but also to work alongside a highly motivated and brilliant group of individuals, whose passion and creativity have been nothing short of inspiring.
Like many others, my interest for video games began at a young age. Initially drawn to RPGs such as Final Fantasy, I have since broadened my scope to include a variety of genres including competitive games like Rocket League and DotA2, to slower-paced games such as Stardew Valley and Hades. While I still enjoy the competitive aspects of video games, I have grown to appreciate the unique experiences offered by casual games. This journey through gaming has helped deepen my understanding of the intricate balance between competitive edge and narrative depth that makes games truly memorable.
These experiences have strengthened my resolve to join the video game industry after graduation. From crafting design documents to coding the gameplay mechanics, I see an opportunity to blend my technical skills, creative vision, and leadership abilities to captivate others as I have been by video games.
